Señorío de Librares is a small family winery from La Rioja, Spain. We are the third generation at the winery and we plan to not only follow the traditions of our grandfather but to evolve and add our own personality to the brand. Our family has been dedicated to wine for more than a 100 years. This dedication goes back to the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1878, where our great-grandfather, Pedro Maria Espinosa, won the Gold Medal.

We cultivate native grapes from La Rioja : Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha and Mazuelo for the production of our red and rose and Viura and Tempranillo blanco for the whites.

The weather and the soil in La Rioja, the unique mixture of cool winters and hot summers with high rainfall, are perfect for producing top quality grapes and with it the best wines. The work starts with the selection of the best land to cultivate our grapes. We plant and take care of our vineyards until autumn, when our grapes are perfectly ready to be collected, selecting the best bunches to produce our wines.

LIBRARES is a tribute to our beloved La Rioja, deeply rooted in nature. We have reimagined our connection with our vineyards to create a wine collection that embodies our philosophy.

Sustainability is our guiding principle, reflected in every aspect of our winemaking. We’re committed to ethical choices, from grape cultivation to land stewardship, as a way to give back to our planet. Our grapes, sourced from our own vineyards and our grandparents’ heritage, are organic, and sustainably grown, reducing our environmental impact. The name “Librares” has a beautiful connection to the horoscope and the connection to the land. It combines “LIBRA,” representing the months of September and October when we harvest grapes in Rioja, with “ARIES,” which symbolizes March and April when our young wines are ready to be enjoyed.

This name symbolizes a story of our wines “journey”, much like how the stars influence our lives and the growth of our grapes and the evolution of our wines.
